Our most recently reviewed wine The 2005 Yelverton Reserve Margaret River Barrel Aged Shiraz comes from the great wine growing region of Margaret River in South Western Australia. Renouned for it’s surfing culture, the last 20 years has seen dramatic vineyard development due to the consistent mediterranean climate moderated by the Indian Ocean, with fantastic growing season temperatures and sunshine for premium Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Shiraz. Some of Australia’s premier wineries have flocked to Margaret River hoping to replicate some of the fantastic wines made by pioneers such as Moss Wood and Cape Mentelle.
The 2005 Yelverton Reserve Margaret River Barrel Aged Shiraz shows wonderful aromas of dark berries with a peppery edge. Seriously big but rounded and infused with subtle oak from a degree of barrel ageing. This wine provides truly great value at only £9.99. Secretly made from a five star rated winery, you wont find a better bargain anywhere in the UK.
