A couple of months ago, my unwise and devil-may-care Patterdale terrier decided to run headlong into a wire fence, resulting in a worrying ear injury and a hasty trip to the vets. Aside from the merry dance we did getting the poor dog onto the vet’s table, the bill we were landed with for a relatively quick stitch and bandage was fairly hefty. I don’t have a rabbit, but I’m certainly considering pet insurance for the dog at the very least as a result!

Leona need only have taken out a little pet insurance. Surely vets bills haven’t reached the $12 million mark yet? As it is, a judge ordered a change in the will to give the dog a more modest $2 million – that is; the dog’s maintenance for more than 10 years, annual $100,000 for full-time security, $8,000 for grooming and $1,200 for food and a $60,000 annual guardian fee.
